Bergamot has a fresh, sweet-tart scent, with a slightly spicy balsamic undertone. It is widely used in perfumes (together with neroli & lavender) and in oil blends to bring mental clarity and provide positive feelings against depression and low self-esteem. It has powerful healing effects, relieving urinary tract infections and inflammations, and is excellent for treating skin conditions such as oily skin, acne, psoriasis, and eczema. As it is an extremely powerful oil, it should not be applied directly on the skin unless mixed with a carrier oil.
The essential oil obtained from the fruit of the Bergamot tree has a citrus-like aroma with spicy undertones. The tree is native to South East Asia but was introduced to Europe, particularly Italy. Bergamot essential oil is named after the Italian city of Bergamo in Lombardy, where the oil was first sold.

Bath: 5 drops in a full drawn bath.
